Chief Executive Officer
Manuel Perez Dubuc leads the Fluence team and its efforts to accelerate energy storage adoption globally, and to transform the way we power our world to ensure a more sustainable future. With over 25 years of senior leadership experience, Manuel is responsible for Fluence’s continued expansion as the company enters its second growth phase.
Before joining Fluence as CEO, Manuel sat on the Fluence Board of Directors and has long been a proponent of energy storage at AES since 2007. During his tenure at AES, he served as Senior VP of Global New Energy Solutions where he was responsible for global expansion in renewables, topping more than 2.8 GW in 2019 alone. He also acted as President of the Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean Strategic Business Unit, raising the profile of the organization in the region.
Over his 10+ years at AES, he has held numerous senior leadership roles, including SVP of AES Global New Energy Solutions, VP & Group Manager of AES North Asia, President & CEO of AES China, VP & General Manager of AES Asia Energy and Infrastructure, and President & CEO of AES Dominicana. During his 2009 to 2011 hiatus from AES, he led the Meiya Power Company (MPC) as Chairman & CEO, with the organization becoming the leading foreign-invested IPP in China and South Korea.
Earlier in his career, Manuel served as an Advisor to the General Director of Public Finance at the Venezuelan Ministry of Finance and held positions at Citibank. He holds an MBA in finance from IESA and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Universidad Simón Bolívar. Manuel has also followed Executive Leadership Programs at the University of Virginia and Georgetown University.
Chief Digital Officer & GM Fluence Digital
As Chief Digital Officer at Fluence, Seyed oversees the Fluence Digital team's work on AI-enabled market trading and digital products. In this role, Seyed leads teams of AI and data scientists, software engineers, product managers and operations and commercial sales experts to accelerate Fluence’s digital offerings globally.
Prior to joining Fluence, Seyed served as Chief Executive Officer and member of the board of directors at AMS. He has also held senior roles at PG&E, Solar City and Tesla.
Over the course of his academic and professional careers, Seyed led several “industry first” milestones. These included designing some of the earliest and most innovative algorithms for bidding energy storage into wholesale electricity markets, as well as developing software platforms that trade portfolios of flexible assets including renewable resources, flexible generation, distributed energy resources and some of the world’s first grid-connected lithium-ion batteries.
Seyed holds a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tehran and a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering (Operations Research) from The Ohio State University. Seyed has published numerous academic papers in journals such as IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, Proceedings of IEEE and Energy Systems, as well as technical reports for The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).
Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Dennis Fehr is responsible for the financial management of Fluence and the development of financial services for Fluence customers, and from a finance perspective the tendering and execution of projects and managing the procurement function.
Prior to joining Fluence, Dennis had a 15-year career with Siemens, holding various finance and business administration positions in China, Germany, Mexico and Indonesia at Siemens’ Medium Voltage business unit.
Dennis holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Berufsakademie Villingen-Schwenningen.
Chief Human Resources Officer
As Chief Human Resources Officer, Larissa Cerqueira is responsible for the Fluence Global HR Strategy and deployment, enabling the business and our employees to fulfill their highest potentials. Larissa and her global team drive all HR initiatives and operations, including organizational development, business partnering, talent management, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, and payroll, among others.
Her 20+ years of experience and solid track record in people, leadership and organization development support Fluence’s continued international growth and expansion. Prior to joining Fluence, Larissa acted as VP - Global Talent Management, heading talent management for four international operational platforms under a large industrial conglomerate. With a strong background in all HR disciplines, she drove global talent strategies and initiatives across business verticals, with a strong focus on business growth and talent pipelines.
Larissa holds an MBA from Fundação Getulio Vargas as well as an undergraduate degree in psychology from Universidade de Brasília.
Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, John Zahurancik directs the Fluence teams that create and deliver storage solutions and services to leading customers around the world. Working with progressive power system players, John and his teams create valuable business use cases for grid-scale storage, educate storage users in these benefits, manage the deployment of new systems, and help service these systems throughout their complete lifecycle.
John was a cofounder of AES Energy Storage in 2007, a recognized market leader, and led AES' team in pioneering nearly 500MW of utility-scale applications of battery-based energy storage projects in the U.S., Chile, the Netherlands, Northern Ireland, the Philippines, and the Dominican Republic.
Accomplishments include the deployment of the world’s largest grid connected lithium ion battery (five times), the first power purchase agreement for energy storage at the 100MW Alamitos Power Center, and the first multi-megawatt scale storage systems approved in six countries.
John is a regular industry speaker on energy storage, innovation, and leadership and is often quoted on these topics in mainstream and industry journals. Prior to energy storage, John worked at AES in retail power and fiber telecommunications, and as a consultant and market analyst to the telecommunications industry.
John holds a master's degree in public policy from the University of Michigan and a bachelor's in economics and social science from Florida State University.
Chief Product Officer
As Chief Product Officer, Rebecca Boll is responsible for developing products and services that anticipate customer needs and that leverage our leadership position within the energy storage industry. In this role, she will be leading a team of experts in market applications, marketing, and product management.
Prior to joining Fluence, she was Chief Technology Officer for the Digital Buildings business at Schneider Electric. There, she led a team assessing advanced technologies to make buildings more autonomous and sustainable. Prior to that, she was Chief Technology Officer at GE Licensing & Technology Ventures, guiding investments for technology transfer and intellectual property creation. Before that, she held various other leadership roles at GE, including starting and leading GE’s Edge Computing & Software Solutions business segment, and helping lead business, product and technology functions for GE Aviation, GE Global Research and GE Power. Before entering the private sector, Rebecca served for six years as an Electronic Combat Officer in the United States Air Force.
Rebecca received her bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Boston University and master’s in human relations from the University of Oklahoma.
Chief Technology Officer
As Chief Technology Officer, Brett Galura leads Fluence’s technology selection, integration design, controls development and market & system modeling for Fluence’s energy storage solutions.
Prior to joining Fluence, Brett served in a variety of capacities over 20 years’ experience with the AES Corporation, including leading AES Energy Storage’s Solution Development team from 2010 onward, architecting and managing the deployment of multiple global information technology projects, overseeing commercial operations development in an AES retail electricity business, co-founding an AES telecom business, and directing AES’ IT operations expansion in Asia and the Middle East.
General Counsel, Secretary & Compliance Officer
Frank Fuselier is Fluence’s lead attorney and brings significant expertise in energy, commercial contracting, cross-border transactions and governance.
Prior to joining Fluence, Frank served as General Counsel North America for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, a global manufacturer and service provider of wind turbines, where he oversaw legal matters relating to turbine sales, operations and maintenance, project development, M&A, litigation management, real estate and human resources. He also served as Associate Counsel for the Conair Corporation, a worldwide manufacturer of consumer products, handling a wide variety of commercial, transactional and general corporate matters. Previously, Frank also managed all legal affairs as SVP, Secretary and General Counsel for Gateway Energy Services Corporation.
Earlier in his career, Frank practiced as an Associate at global law firms Mayer Brown and Bingham McCutchen. He holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Columbia Law School, as well as a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and master’s degree in theater from Villanova University.
Vice President, Global Markets
As Vice President for Global Markets, Jan Teichmann oversees Fluence’s global sales and product marketing efforts.
Prior to joining Fluence, Jan led development of Siemens’ global energy storage business, as well as serving in senior marketing and sales capacities for Eaton’s solar inverter business and Siemens in southeast Asia. Jan has worked in the fields of product development, project management, sales and marketing for over 20 years and has a deep understanding of existing power grids and the challenges they face.
While employed by major distribution systems suppliers in Europe and several Asian countries, he built broad knowledge in power distribution products and systems and solutions, for conventional and power electronics-based technologies.
Jan holds a degree in electrical engineering from University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern.
